Brielle had great coaches for softball this year. They are always positive no matter how much I am pulling my hair out of my head while watching they are praising and reinforcing the girls. Sometimes they have games where they are allowed to steal bases and the coach gets carried away and sends them when he shouldn't. It is hard to watch them get unnecessary outs when they are struggling to win games.

Ken's Birthday and pics around the house
Happy Birthday Ken. We got to spend the afternoon and evening with Ken and Mom as they came to Brielle's game and then to the house for a cook-out. I made Ken a salad spoon and Fork set out of maple(I think) but I did not take a picture of them. Brielle wrote a poem about Ken's love of acting, it was beautiful and made Ken tear up a bit.
Foxgloves(one of my favorites)
The chicks are growing fast, especially the meat birds. The peach tree has too many peaches and is trying to break off limbs.

Rotary transition dinner
Today was the Laconia Rotary transition dinner which signifies the completion of the currents president's term(Cassandra) and the start of the incoming Presidents(John ) term. He is wearing the crown and holding up his drink. We brought Brielle with us and she played by the water most of the evening. In the picture she looks ready to become the new President as she has picked up the Gavel they use to run the meetings. Cassandra is heavily involved in Rotary. She is now the assistant District Governor overseeing six Rotary clubs and will hold that title for the next three years. She takes a trip to a developing country yearly to work on water, building, medical, and or polio projects all of which is paid for by Rotary. If anyone ever has any interest in helping out with any of these kinds of projects contact Cassandra and she will tell you how you can be involved. Don't ask me what Gail is looking for in her blouse, she and her husband Craig are always the wild ones at the Rotary events.

Horse shoes
We had Cody, Ciara and Kyle over for a ham dinner and then a couple games of horse shoes. Sorry about the picture quality it was getting dark so any action was making it blurry.
Brielle speaking:me and my mom where one team but we lost both games...!!!!We only lost because I could barely get any points.Clever shot...!!!If you can see my dad got a picture of my brothers throw in mid air...!!!I got 2-3 points well better luck next time.Well now I am going to tell you some of the important things you need to know to play horse shoes.
- You have to have a comfortable position to stand in.
- You have to let go at belly button height.
- THROW UNDERHAND!!!!!
- Trow like your piching in softball!!!!
- Concentrate on your target.
- But most of all have fun!!!!

Father's Day Weekend
We had the pleasure of Josh and his Daughter for the weekend. She and Brielle had lots of fun together. Josh is getting his Father's Day gifts in their picture. She really enjoyed the swing that I made for Brielle a couple years ago.
My Father's Day gift, WOW! Luckily we didn't buy it, Cassandra won it which makes it all the sweeter.
We went to see Ken to wish him a happy Father's Day and then went to Dad's but he was not there. After leaving his house we made a quick stop at the fish hatchery to feed the big trout and salmon and I took the picture of Cassandra and Brielle. Thank you both for a great Father's Day. I love you.
Brielle giving me the best Father's Day gift I could possibly get! This is a retake of what she sang for me in the morning when she made her Mother and I glossy eyed with her rendition of a Miley Cyrus song. I love you Brielle!

work, chicks, flowers
We got the rest of our chick order on Saturday so now we have our first Rhode Island Reds. We also got more meat hens for a total of sixteen, six of which where originally going to be someone Else's but they decided not to raise any. The chicks are growing quickly especially the meat birds which are twice the size of the other chicks already! The other chicks are flying up to the edge of the twelve inch boards that I have surrounding them.
I am going to post a lot of flower pictures as they come into bloom in the yard. We don't necessarily have a large number of plants of each flower but they are all from our property.
I posted a picture of a clematis bloom on June 3rd. It is the same one that is shown here only now it is fully opened. Once clematis get established they are great year after year.

Rain
Rain, Rain, Rain. Sunday and it's a rainy day, very nice for lounging around playing on phone computers and lap tops while sitting on the screen porch listening to the rain. After Josh left I split wood so that I am almost finished with the chunks that I have. It doesn't look like that much now that it is stacked, sadly, which means I am going to have to cut some trees down around here or find a source for wood. Just add that to my list of things to finish!

Josh's visit
We where happy to have Josh come up from the Cape this weekend. We had a great relaxing time. He has a new dog and she is about the size of our cat! She is very friendly and loves attention. We had a nice campfire, although it did start to rain. Brielle came out to join us for a while and she brought marshmallows. Sorry I managed to upload two of the same picture, woops.

chicks and keats
We got chicks and keats on Saturday from Rand's in Plymouth. We originally ordered some meat chickens and an assortment of layers(Rhode Island Reds, Black Australorps, Araucana, and Barred Rocks) but when we went to pick up part of our order there where some Guinea keats so we got six of them. One has died, not sure why, but all the others are doing ok so far. After we got them home I showed Cassandra a picture of an adult Guinea and she was not to excited about what they are going to look like. I have also heard they can be unfriendly and noisy. We are going to try and handle them a lot to help them be as tame as possible. I wanted them because they are supposed to be great for ridding your property of ticks and other bugs. The white headed bird is a picture of an adult guinea that I got from the internet, very pretty... If they end up being a problem I also read that they have all dark meat and are good eating.
